How to be motivated to lose Fat?
We all make diet and fitness routines. In many cases, these routines or regimes get quashed. Your dieting schedule is disturbed by something tasty and tempting. Because of fatigue of office or hustle of daily life, you dont always feel motivated to workout or follow a routine. What can be a constant motivation? Some of us launch on a fitness routine after getting influenced by the social media. Mostly, we want to become fit to look handsome or beautiful and be socially accepted. Most of the gyms are focused towards making you look muscular without paying any regards to your body type. But all these things are temporary. We adjust within our friend circles. Our bad habits or bad shapes or looks are accepted after some time. Somebody being fat may be an object of fun initially, but after some time, he/she is accepted.

This acceptance makes us feel that being fit is not at all required. But we are wrong in the first place by treating fitness as an object of beauty. We have to stop seeing our bodies as showpieces and treat it more like a biological thing which affects us internally. There are many diseases and ailments that are caused by fat. These ailments must be good enough to scare or motivate us to be fit.

A protruding belly is a sign of extra fat stored in the body. This only is linked to obesity as the most visible part in our bodies is belly only. Not only belly, fat is being stored at almost all the places in the body. Legs, hips, back, sides, chest, arms, neck and cheeks externally. Around the intestines, liver, tongue, throat and arteries internally. Let us indicate fat gains as belly fat only as is common practice in the society. Belly is associated with reduced muscle mass, aging and diseases.
HORMONAL CHANGES Belly fat gives a bad appearance. But the real damage is done inside by causing disturbances in the hormones of our body. We should be more worried about the diseases that are on our way.
ESTROGEN
Stored fat causes hormonal changes in the body. It leads to increased levels of estrogen circulating into the blood causing reproductive health issues in men. It impairs blood flow to the tissue and causes chronic inflammation. Fat tissues are called adipose tissues which convert androgens into estrogen. Basically, a fat man may gain few features of women physically as well as psychologically.

Estrogen affects psychologically more than physiologically. In women, unbalanced estrogen levels can cause issues related to irregularities in menstrual cycle. Estrogen can cause uterine lining to overgrow, leading to unusually heavy or prolonged periods in women. These are life threatening and the reasons behind mood swings and stress.
LEPTIN
Leptin is the hormone which signals satiety on eating food. This hormone is produced by fat cells only. Moment the glycogen stores are full and fat storage starts- leptin is released by these fat cells signalling satiety and fullness. Excess fat keeps on releasing leptin, ultimately causing leptin resistance. The sense of satiety is lost. A fat person will feel mostly hungry because of this. This leads to more food being eaten and more fat being stored.

INSULIN
Excess fat particularly around internal organs makes cells less responsive to insulin. Frequent eating leads to insulin being released again and again leading to insulin resistance.

The cells donโt store glycogen as result of this. Insulin canโt do the job of diverting extra sugar in the blood to glycogen stores anymore. Spiked glucose levels in blood stay in blood and pose a threat to life. This is famously called diabetes. Once this happens, reversing the damage is nearly impossible. Dependency on insulin injections and tablets!
CORTISOL
It is called โstress hormoneโ. It has been found that Cortisol diverts most of the fat to be stored in and around belly. No doubt, depression is associated with belly fat. Obesity raises the โcortisol levelsโ leading to further fat gains around the belly and increase in stress levels. A vicious cycle of fat gain-stress-fat gain starts.

HEART STROKE
Fat tissueโespecially hidden visceral fat around abdominal organsโreleases fatty acids that raise “bad” LDL cholesterol and lower “good” HDL cholesterol. This imbalance leads to fatty deposits forming in the arteries, which can restrict blood flow or break off and block blood vessels supplying the brain. ย Adipose (fat) tissue is an active organ that releases chemicals triggering low-grade inflammation throughout the body. This inflammation speeds up artery hardening, increasing the likelihood of blood clots. Obesity is a major driver of type 2 diabetes. High blood sugar and insulin resistance directly damage the lining of blood vessels.

SPINE PROBLEMS
Excess body fat causes spine issues by placing chronic mechanical stress on the spinal column, accelerating joint degeneration, and triggering systemic inflammation that weakens spinal structures.ย Carrying excess weight forces the spine out of its natural alignment, which can lead to severe structural damage and chronic pain over time. The spine is built to carry a specific amount of weight. Extra pounds place constant, heavy pressure on the vertebrae, facet joints, and ligaments, causing them to wear down much faster than normal.

Belly is a package full of disease like diabetes, hypertension, cancer, heart stroke, asthma, sleep apnea, fatty liver, kidney diseases and many more. These should be primary concern for us instead of the appearance. Best motivation to be fit is the longevigty and self dependency till late in that age. Most of us lead busy lives till our retirements. You go to a profession as a young and fit person and come out with depression, diabetes or obesity. After retirement, you cant enjoy the life if you are suffering from diseases. If we keep this factor at the back of our minds, we will be able to appreciate fitness and our bodies as the homes to our souls. Staying fit allows you to enjoy life presently as well as after retirement. Socrates once told- “What a disgrace it is for a man to grow old without ever seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable“.

STAY FIT!! STAY HEALTHY!!
